Default p0340 code

Got headers and exhaust installed about a month ago, had one of the extension wires burn out on me so I got the infamous cel lights w/the ppe headers. Got the extension wire replaced and rerouted better, then after 100mi after the fix got another cel code p0340 ( cam sensor). Any thoughts guys? Btw its an 08 but with only 8k miles. I had a lexus dealership replace the extension wire but had a aftermarket mod shop install the headers and exhaust. Forgot to mention that now the driver side buttons for the passenger and both back door windows dont work, but the driver side window button does work on the driver side. But all the door window buttons on each door works fine. The car runs normal from what I can tell, it doesnt feel under powered and the rpms are normal and the car starts fine. Really weird. I didnt have this problem until I got the extension wire replaced.

They disconnected the battery. Your sunroof probably doesn't work right either. Go to each door, fully lower and fully raise each window. Your windows will be golden. Run the sunroof through the same full limits of operation and it will be happy again too.

The cam sensor code is a different problem entirely. Sounds like either it didn't get reconnected or it got damaged.

That's not weird at all especially if they were dealing with wiring.

So I'm sure I'll get plenty of arrows shot at me, but I almost never disconnect the battery. I did when I checked the valve lash because the battery had to come out of the car and the ECM was completely removed so the battery wasn't my biggest issue.

Otherwise, I never disconnect it because it screws up so many small things (like blanking out my trip meters). Even when I'm working on wiring. But I've been an electronics tech since 1973...I've worked on a lot of hot systems over the years.

Does putting the windows all the way down then back up work? I thought you put the windows down half way, then all the way up, and hold the window switch for a couple seconds (you'll hear a "click"). Ive never tried all the way down, so it may work too, but the half-way method is the way i do it on my 2008 and it seems to work. (You have to do the same procedure for each widow).

all you have to do is roll the windows down and up, and your set.

If Lexus thought it was a big deal, they would have put you in limp mode. I wouldn't plan a long trip with it like that, but short trips around town shouldn't be a serious issue.

Your O2 sim is not working right.. P0430 is the code you get when the secondary O2 sensor thinks your cats are not up to snuff. Your O2 sim is supposed to fix that.

My understanding is that you had a difficult installation, and that there were problems installing the o2 sim. I would guess that lobuxracer hit the nail on the head, and you should get a new 02 simulator.
