when you start the car the ivic will start and you see the startup screen, but after that it goes back to the nav screen (i default my factory nav to go to nav screen). if you press audio, it will go to ivic mode and feed from your phone.

you can always press on MAP to go to factory map. or if you want, you can even press on the DISC button to cycle back to your factory dvd/cd changer.

bottom line, the ivic does NOT take away any current mode on your factory nav system. all it does is add an extra mode to allow ivic to display

Just saw they released this the other day while updating my ML+. Tempting to switch but I would need to get the iVic and a new 5th gen ipod to take advantage of the new interface.

IMO: (for iphone users) - Apple's next thing will be car integration with it's OS. Although older model navs may not support it, i would wait to see these upcoming changes, and see how VAIS will handle those features.

Although if the device is flashable, i'm sure the new features could be added on.

I just got back from the install and the unit is awesome! Sound quality is great switch between modes is a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it no problem. I am having trouble uploading my contacts to have the phone work but I really have not played with it that much. If anyone has a suggestion of how to get the phone and contacts to work to make a hands free cal please reply. I was going to post pics and instructions but was beat to the punch. The instructions that where posted are awesome thanks!

Thanks for your business! To get contacts to show up, go to Settings -> Privacy -> Contacts -> Allow right next to iVIC. Thanks!
