What about mounting the unit behind the stock radio unit, and running the ipod/iphone connector to the glove [what the stock lexus ipod adapter does] or center console (where your arm rests)?
Actually, I do plan to mount the unit behind the stock radio unit. I guess I was looking for ideas of where to run the cable to to connect the iPhone. I am not crazy about going to the glove box as I want to be able to use the iPhone if needed.
Center console would probably be your best choice. If using the iPhone while driving, wouldn't you be using the handsfree/bluetooth anyway?
I placed mine in the center console. That way I can leave my ipod in my center rest and have access anytime to grab my ipod. The glove would be too far away and I would hate to modifiy my ashtray as some have done so already. Though it does look neat and nice.
I use a Kuda www.kudausa.com mount with a Dice electronics integration cradle to charge, hold and play my Ipod. The main reason I went with Kuda is because my wife has an Iphone and when she drives the car, she has easy access to her Iphone, apps, etc.. She does not like bluetooth so it is not sync'ed to the IS. The Kuda is wrapped in leather, is easy to install and does not interfere with the glove box. GL
Hey, sorry to bring back an old thread, but A1Lexus, is it hard to install the Kuda holder? That looks really neat and I'd love to do something like that. Also, do you know if it will work for the VAIS iPhone connector? Additionally, where did you run the cable from?
