Default Ebay nav touchscreen looking fugly

So I replaced my nav screen a few months ago with a ebay screen. The touch still works flawlessly, but now the screen is looking like a cheap Chinese tablet. Almost cant stand to look at it. Oh well....

Ill take a pic, but it may not come out right. The screen is looking greenish. pretty terrible, but it still works.

Which eBay vendor did you go with? Was your original display bad, or was the touch portion of it bad?

If you still have the original screen, I'd be interested in replacing the touch portion. I am concerned I will need to do this myself at some point, and if I could experiment with a unit before doing it for my car, it would be very helpful. Where are you in FL?

IM in south broward county. I threw it in the trash because I tried to repair it also. I used the circuit writer pen on it, but no go. THe new screen is ugly now, but its livable. AS long as the touch works im happy.

the OEM digitizer is connected to to the screen. if you didnt crack the **Actual** screen you were good. All you needed to replace was the digitizer with the new connection it comes with.

When i get home i will post pics. I bought two complete "new" screen myself too and after repairing a member's screen here i did the digitizer route instead of changing the whole screen out (more money)

The digitizer was 42+shipping online. and it was cake! For those buying the screen due to a malfunction on the TOUCH; dont waste ur time buying the screen on Ebay. It is a refurbished with just the digitizer replacement. you can use your original and remove the existing digitizer. I used 3m glue from autozone to glue the new screen. Those screens on ebay are cheap quality made.

That's a shame. I'll be in your area this weekend/next week. I would have done what is described above - remove the old digitizer and replace it. You'd have your original screen again with a new touch surface.

I've seen digitizers as cheap as $16...

ok, so I have been noticing that the screen will change, I guess depending on its mood. Sometimes its jacked up, sometimes it looks normal, sometimes its in between.

it's not the screen, it's the digitizer that was placed on your screen when you purchased it as a whole. Just as a note i have repaired quite a few units already and noticed the diffrent quality in these digitizer's sold online. There is only one seller that can provide the best quality on Ebay. other than that ; all other's at those low costs are cheap. The texture is rough and makes the screen look dull.

Just to try it one day i removed the digitizer and installed the screen, The lighting w/o it looks like if it was HD like the newer models. The digitizer is what gives it that blurr since it has a UV/sunlight protector film on it.

Which seller on ebay do you recommend.

You took the digitizer off and only installed the screen? Is the digitizer needed? Should I just take the digitizer of mine?

No, you still need the digitizer; otherwise the "Touch" wont work. I installed the screen w.o it to see how it looked.

The seller is: goodsupply0889 with expedited shipping it's around $73.00.
