^ They are extremely easy to get to.

EDITED: Face your mirror up, grab a hold of the bottom of the mirror and tug hard enough to remove the glass.
Once that is off, i think there are only 4 screws that hold the mirror housing together.
After you unscrew those, the mirror housing would come apart and you'll be able to access the bulb.

Thanks for the catch jlam86. Its been a long time since I replaced mine.

^ I am pretty sure you face the mirror UP and pull UP from the bottom. I did this just recently.

When you put your mirror back on, make sure they are actually snapped into the little white bracket. Many people complain that since doing this mod, their mirror never seems to be as tightly secured, but I speculate it is because it is hard to get your fingers behind the mirror when it is in it's housing to fully secure the mirror onto the bracket.

Aside from that, 1sexylexus's instructions are pretty spot on.

If you have any questions about lighting the 2IS, check here first. All the bulbs and the procedures to get to them are well covered in the regular forum, and very little is unique to the F when it comes to lighting.

This post has pics of replacing the wedge bulbs in the mirror.

Bump

Question - my F has really cool blue puddle lights. I assumed it was stock but not really sure. Looks sick like some ET spaceship as the light mingles with my USB paint and it's unreal.

Any fellow USB owners running blue puddles ( if not stock) or DRLs?

The DRLs are bluish LEDs, so I'm thinking the prev owner was going for a USB theme.

What are the stock bulbs like?

Blue DRLs? Those are...functional lol.
Everything in my car is converted to ultra blue lighting by V-LEDs. Come to think of it, I always get compliments on the lighting.
My DRLs are white: I like some high-beam functionality.

Well,(DRL) It's not a deep blue like the puddle lights. It's kind of a blue-ish/white light. White light with a slight blue tint. That's the best way I can describe them. Were on F when I bought her. They are old school LEDs as they kind have a slight flicker. However, I've gotten compliments on that flicker too, so go figure.
DRL/highbeem bulb: With high-beems on, they throw a bright white light- not bluish at all. Not a light expert, but they are functional.
