Unhappy Windscreen cracked

So leaving work last night and noticed my windscreen was cracked

I'm sure its from driving in the industrial area and a rock must have hit the windscreen while driving, I didn't notice it because I had my sun visor down, but when I was leaving in the afternoon and put the sun visor down I noticed the crack

So my question now is can I get this repaired using a similar method to this ---->

Or would I have to change the whole windscreen?

I'd rather not take the second route because I know they won't won't be able to do a good installation here.

you could, but it's always much safer to replace the cracked windshield. I feel the lexus windshields are so weak. i'm on my second and already filled in some nasty stone chips.

Yeah I think I'll be changing it completely.

I'm surprised it cracked so easily because as far as I know I have a slight tint on the front windscreen.

A crack that large is not repairable. You have to replace the entire windshield.

Sucks it cracked so soon and a large crack at that! I took a pretty good hit from a pebble that was kicked up while on the interstate last month. It hit so hard I was watching and waiting for the windshield to crack but it held up. I got lucky I guess.

This. Make sure you get a quality replacement. Pilkington is usually OEM.

Had a crack like that, got it replaced for $250. Pilkington glass and it was fine. Clarity was the same, but I think you do lose the "rain repellent" feature of the OEM glass. Something you can do yourself with Aquapel or RainX.

The installer is the most important aspect of getting a windshield replaced.

Call your insurance and let them know your situation, they will cover everything. I suggest you should replace the OEM again, it goes with Lexus logo and being easy to trade or selling.

Yeah I've taken the quotation for repair from the dealers and now I'm just getting my insurance company to cover the cost.

Should be fixed by next week hopefully.

Thanks for the advice
