This is exactly why I'm going to be re-welding my oem tips and painting them "in preparation" for something like this to happen.

What about black chrome tips? That may look the best.

Black chrome would look good. I thought about it but forgot to see if it is something the powdercoating shop could do (probably not). I did see a kit that gives a black chrome effect by basically painting a black tint over any metal finish and then a clear coat over that. This was after they had been painted flat black though and I didn't want to mess with it. Also, any imperfections would show through since it is a transluscent finish. You'd want to make sure whatever you are painting is as spotless as possible.

This is the kit I saw: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/shadow/

Just another option that should look fantastic.

thanks for the idea.. I just bought a chrome trunk bar used with multiple swirl marks and i spent an hour yesterday with rubbing compound to get the scratches and swirls out.. Well it didn't work and there;s no local chrome place and its plastic so they won't touch it anyway..

This maybe another option..

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I love my black exhaust tip.

Those look great. I like the look of the ISS exhaust tips and I did notice another member with aftermarket tips on his stock exhaust which also looked pretty good. I'm planning on getting the full borla exhaust sometime within the next couple months though and I haven't seen anyone yet have aftermarket tips attached to the Borla mufflers.

Maybe lexuz125th will be the first guy lol

I FINALLY got my exhaust tips back. The powercoat place hung on to them forever. They did turn out very nice though.

The tips:

And the final result - s4play + CF vinyl wrap + the nicely done gloss black tips:

I thought about putting a light tint on the tail lights, but I'd like to use film rather than have them sprayed. I was looking for pre-cut film, which aerotect doesn't seem to carry anymore and the other place I found was what seemed like crazy prices.

I suppose I could just see if a tint shop around here has the right film for that.

Looks sweet. Does the exhaust need to be removed to get the tips out or unbolt from the back and pull out?

Easiest way to pull the diffusers off are to remove the bumper. It would be a PITA to get the two top bolts off with bumper. It takes maybe 30min to remove the bumper and diffusers and put it all back together.
