Default Track Recipe:

I haven’t been much lately on this form. I need to report back on my track experience.
I have done the following simple upgrades that make a hell of a difference on track:

o Enkei PF-01s, 18 x 9.5, +45 offset with Toyo R888 285/30/18s on all four corners
o FIGS 2-PIECE BRAKE ROTORS with Carbotech XP12 fronts and XP10 rears.
o Dot 5.1 brake Oil

I have been to Dubai Autodrome track day with serious race prepped cars and I never felt out of my place! It only took a couple of laps to earn the respect of other drivers. Usually what happens those guys will overtake you at any corner at any speed without a slight hesitation! I had many of those drivers approaching me after the first session admiring the cornering speed of my F. The very same ones who were skeptical about seeing a Lexus on a racetrack! They were like what the hell is a Lexus doing on a racetrack! Well… now they now.
I’m really very satisfied with the F in general and with the upgrade I did to it. I can’t help thinking that this car will make a serious track toy, or even racecar if I only can manage to reduce some weight. Maybe one day in the feature, when the warranty is over, I’ll convert it to a racecar.

I am on factory suspesnion. The 285 are damn close to the front suspension. They bearly clear it with about 2 mm of gap between the. No rubbing though.

How did you follow the rotor & brake pad bedding procedures? Did you install right before going out for laps?

I did the bedding at home a day earlier and just drove to the track

Excellent report. So glad it resolved the braking issues you were seeing previously. You live in one hot desert so I am glad you are happy. Those pads kinda throw you through the windshield

2 piece rotors make a world of a difference.

You're lucky you're in Dubai, you guys have some nice tracks to race in.

Did you need to modify the fenders for that tire fitment? I'd be interested in trying that out.

No, nothing at all. The tires fit just fine without rolling the fenders.

if you do constant tracking you should look into sway bars.

You'd be way ahead to just get better suited springs. Stiff sways are a bandaid for soft spring rates. There are LOTS of good reasons to run the softest sways with the correct springs.

Was just going to say the same thing. I found the same thing too, you need more front spring rate before even looking at the sways.
