The exact same thing happened like three weeks ago. While i was getting my headers on they noticed my water pump was leaking and took it to lexus and they fixed it under warranty. They did not even try to blame the headers. I also have an 08. Dont even begin to sweat about it.

My car is at the performance shop having headers installed, of course the O2 sensors seize, so I'm having to wait for Denso's to arrive. I just thought that if we're careful enough we could reuse existing ones... WRONG lol.
The big thing that we uncovered while installing the headers is my leaky water pump, yes it's a 08 IS-F. It should still be covered under powertrain warranty, but my worry is that if I bring it in with the headers installed that the dealer will negate the warranty. What are your thoughts fellow F owners?

It is really hit or miss with a dealer with mods. some are friendly some arent.
no you should not have to worry about it
i believe only the early 08 models had this issue and since then they had a new part number for the water pump which probably is revised seals
you will see a pink crust around the water pump area
