I removed my cats and left the mufflers on as an alternative to the above posts. Even that sounds a little bit nicer than stock and should give performance gains.
These deletes sound good, but I'm curious as to what they sound like at cruising speeds. Although the car is no Maybach, I like the serenity of my car as is. When I stand up in it, it gets crazy enough. I like it's dual nature for my daily driving.
I can't see me modifying **** in this car. When I want crazy speed, I hop on one of my bikes.
I don't understand why someone would go cheap on such a high end car. We spent so much money for a top performing car, why not treat it like one with the best parts.

This is a good point, although it isn't about being cheap... I can't justify spending $1700+ for an exhaust that will only yield 20whp (headers are a different story, that's ~40whp)... 416HP is fast enough for me, half the people on here don't even feel the change unless they're tracking the car on a timed course. IMO the muffler/cat delete is the perfect mod if all you want is sound. And the best part is you can weld it back on as needed.
I did the muffler and 2nd cat delete and absolutely LOVE it! I also, do outside sales and am constantly on the phone and it's not a problem. The car is a Lexus and sealed very nicely, so it doesn't interfere with talking on the phone. I also take clients out as well and they all really like the sound and again, it doesn't interfere with having a conversation. The best part is, my buddy gave me his stock exhaust off his old IS-F and that's what I used to cut up...so, I can just put the stock exaust back in when it comes time to part with the car. But, if you don't have this option, you can just have the stock system welded back in for less than $200. The sound can have a little rasp in it when it's not warm, but after it warms up, it's gone and the sound IMO is wonderful.

Its just replacing restrictive parts with straight pipes...I don't see how that is cheap???
Just cause its affordable doesn't mean its cheap. I had used mandrel bent ss
I wonder how the car would sound with just the secondary cats and resonators removed....? slightly louder, deeper tone, but raspy? I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on a $1000+ exhaust system that nobody will even really get to see, gains are minimal, and you get a little bit of sound.

that's why I opted for the issforged but I completely understand the price issue and people wanting to maintain the stock tips. I think if we had more available mods where serious gains could be realized such as a tune, cams, etc people would be more open to spending money on aftermarket systems

I bumped up in another thread.. CarTreats has made a 3" pipe that will take the place of the resonator and secondary cats, but retains the stock mufflers. Their shop is located in Bronx, NY which is a 30 min drive from me, might be worth checking out if they have the pipes in stock. I would need to make sure they are 100% T304 stainless steel. It is going for $600 on their website.
Wow. They tell some seriously big lies on their website. The dyno they show doesn't look like any 2UR-GSE dyno I've ever seen. It would be really nice if our torque curve were as beautifully flat as the one on the graph, but it's far from it no matter how you slice it. Add to this the "49 State emissions legal" and we've got straight up fraud. It is illegal to remove a working catalytic converter from any emissions controlled vehicle in all 50 states according to the EPA. It doesn't mean you can't do it and get away with it, but to claim this product is emissions legal couldn't be a more bald faced lie.

So lobux should I stay away? Should I just go to a performance shop and have them fabricate custom piping for me?
