^^^I'm contemplating this...I have no muffler and no resonator...i'm thinking about getting rid of the two secondary cats that are after the O2 sensors...do you think the car will get louder?

I was next to a E63 AMG (6.2L version not the new Bi-turbo), and OMG...the sound made me cream. AMG power

It has nothing to do with being cheap actually. The car is fast as is, and I'm not gonna drop 2000 on headers that i have to take some where to have installed for hours and when i want to remove them, take it back and pay more money to get it done. I'm a DIY car guy. 2nd, besides the performance gains, I prefer the way my car sounds over the Joe Z exhaust. I love the aggressiveness of how my car sounds and I constantly get compliments. I don't want a deep growl...Listen to that AMG Mercedes...if that car drove by, everyone would be turning heads saying OMG (car people at least, regular people might go WTF that's annoying), but if a IS F drove by, people would just think...oh...a Lexus...or they wouldn't even think anything of it.

I wonder if making the pipes shorter and making my cutouts closer to the headers will make it louder...

I'm contemplating what to do with the IS F in the next year. I might sell it and get something else...or just get something else and keep it and leave it the way it is. Not gonna dump 4000 in mods into it. That money can be used to buy another car.

You know at idle revs, he's just blipping the throttle...if he pushed it harder it would make a louder some what "smoother" sound I'm sure. Man that sounds so nasty...I want!

For those with muffler delete, can you still hear the secondary intake open up around 3800 RPM? I can't tell from the videos.

the secondary should open up at the same rpm range. u won't hear cuz the exhaust cancels out the noise but I'm sure u will hear it in the car. u must do it VJ for bringing this thread up!

you don't really hear it anymore...and you lose the "whoosh" sound that you get when shifting...it's just straight up loud now...

Tomorrow, I'm getting my mufflers deleted and a pipe welded in its place from a local shop. From videos on CL and youtube, the removal of the mufflers and the cats/resonator seem to give an aggressive roar to the car (which is awesome and cost friendly) but I feel may be too much/loud for my daily driving/business calls. Thus, only mufflers will be removed.

i'll post a video for those who are interested at a later time

Mufflers removed will be just as nice dude...honestly, it's not even that loud. It's not even a rice loud. What i did was i just had them cut the mufflers off right before it splits off, then just weld a 90 degree bend so that the exhaust air shoots downwards.

Regardless of what setup, in 8th gear, you don't even hear it.
