Default Need to find Front Hubs...

I bought a 2008 IS-F back in 08. I got it slightly used and thought i had gotten a great deal. About a month later i was informed that the car was supposed to have the brembo gran turismo kit on it not the IS 250 disks and calipers that it had on it. I guess the guys stole the set and put IS 250 stuff on it. I went to Lexus and asked how much it would be to upgrade to the brembo big brake kit. He told me it would be 9,800 plus extras. I laughed and walked out. I got all 4 disks and calipers in mint condition from a wrecked IS-F in calgary for 1600.00 The rear disks and calipers went on like a charm but the fronts dont fit. Im pretty sure its because i have IS 250 hubs as well. The IS-F and the IS 250 use the same knuckle so it cant be that. Does anybody know of a place that sells oem front hubs BESIDES lexuspartnow.com because they dont ship to Canada and they don't take international credit cards (real pain in the ***). Thx

Wow, that is quite a story. Sorry to hear it. Try these guys http://is.sewellparts.com/ this is for Sewell Lexus in Texas. I don know the answers to your questions. It they are worth checking because they have really great pricing, especially if you set up an account with them using your clublexus screen name, you get an additional discount.

Good luck. Any chance you can get the hubs off the wrecked car the other parts came from?

Yes the hubs are very different and you definitely have the IS250/IS350 hubs not the F units because the 250 brakes will not fit with the F hubs and vice versa.

Sewell or Carson are your best bet for US sources.

Sounds like the F we saw on Autotrader awhile back with 250 brakes on it.

BTW, the OEM kit is not the Brembo GT kit. The OEM kit has 360mm front rotors, the GT kit has 380mm rotors and completely different calipers.

You definitely got hosed on the brakes if they're from a 250. Was this car used? Rebuilt from a total?

I bought it used with 8,000 miles on it. It was in mint condition that's why i thought i got a good deal. My mechanic thinks it was most likely involved in a front-end collision and had to be rebuilt. The private dealership i bought it from has a history of buying cars at auction, fixing then up, and selling them for a quick buck. I found this out afterwards from my mechanic of course. I will definately take pics tomorrow morning. The calipers and disks i bought are the original OEM that came from another lexus is-f. Sewell sells hubs for about 550.00 each , and ship to canada, which is still a lot better than the dealership.

Ahh loggin in too car-part.com again...
