stock hid's

is it possible to upgrade the stock hid's and go brighter without changing the balast? might be a stupid question but i just gotta ask since this is my first car with actual hid's..lol

you can just change the bulbs without changing the ballast

I wouldn't do that. It might be too much for the stock.

Only if he puts in a 55W HID bulb. Changing to a different bulb with a different color rating won't hurt.

the higher up on the color temperature K scale (6,000/10,000/12,000) you loose visible light output. 4300k is the money spot, imo. ive had the bluish tint hid's and wasnt happy with the loss of light. i like illuminating the road as much as i can and have people flash me the brights b/c they think i have mine on lol

Yeah, I got off the 6000K / 8000K / 200000000K /// bandwagon a long time ago. 6000K looks cool, but I'm about function over form now for headlights. Besides, 4300K causes less strain on the eyes than 6000K during long drives at night.

Every. Single. Time I see someone with aftermarket bluer lights I think "wow, what a dumbass"

i would only go up one step if your going to upgrade your bulb. I cant stand those with 8-12K bright blue

wuts the stock wattage hid ?? i want function over form too...i got 3k fogs and i want something a little brighter for my headlights now...
