HKS 32023-AT001 Exhaust
Hi,
I can anyone tell me if adding this exhaust + mid pipe will cause it not to pass emission testing here in Utah?
My understanding is it removes only the secondary cats, because the sensors are before and after the first cats this likely means it wont cause me any issues?
Thanks!
P.S
Anyone know where I can find a better price for the system than http://thmotorsports.com/

The fact that it removes the cats makes it illegal and If they do visual inspections it will not pass. It will probably pass but apart from me there are a very few people that have this exhaust and my car does not need to pass emissions yet.
The good news is that you can unbolt the HKS mid pipes and install the factory ones and still leave either the OEM or HKS rear section in place.

Would a dumb person know by looking it only has 2 of 4 ?
Is the mid pipe really worth the hassle ?

You can take your car in and hope that the guy is "dumb" and doesn't notice or play it safe and install the OEM part for your inspection.
All of the power gained is in the HKS mid pipes because those 2 cats are missing. The rear mufflers that HKS sells only give 3 more hp to the wheels.
If all of this is a hassle you can just leave the factory mid pipes on.

There are 4 for a reason and the guy inspecting your car only cares that it should have 4. His job is not to question why there are 4 instead of 2.

Where is the best place to purchase it?

Mine is a prototype from HKS so I can't provide any input there. There aren't many of these in the country and HKS USA will be closing it's doors at the end of August. After that these will have to be ordered by an HKS Dealer so I would get it sooner than later.
No HKS dealer will really stock these so the wait will be longer once they are not in the US. Good luck, it's a sweet exhaust and I have no doubt you'll love it.
