Default Nitrous Express Proton and SAFE Cell Install- Stage 6 Lighting Solenoids

I wanted to share my recent project with the IS-F community. I did a lot of reading and looking into the right ways of doing this well before I jumped on the "Juiced" bandwagon. Seeing that we have very few options on the IS-F this seemed to be the best bang for the buck and one of the safest ways to make power due to our lack of tuning options for our car. The Proton kit is NX way of concealing the solenoids and protecting them from as much heat as possible while allowing for a clean simple install. The SAFE cell allows a nitrous user to run race gas only while you are spraying nitrous into the motor. By spraying c16 or q16 in the motor you are eliminating the detonation possibilities almost all together. The other huge benefit is not having to tamper with your oem fuel system at all!!

My other concern was hitting the rev limiter using nitrous....We all know that's no good. So I wired in a msd digital rpm switch in sync with my full throttle switch to have a on rpm and off rpm while spraying. So not only does the vehicle have to see 100% throttle it also must see the correct rpm range before the solenoids will activate. So far I have been testing the kit with a 70shot only and I will be installing a wideband o2 gauge in the car this weekend. Once the wideband is on I will start testing in the 150 shot range. My end goal on this will be 550+whp with my current mods and hopefully the first 10 second IS-F time slip, On with the Pics!!! Dyno and videos will be posted as they happen.

Update Stage 6 NX Lighting solenoids are now installed. See Page 3 for update!

How much did that endup costing? So its dry and if you have race gas then its wet right?

Its 100% a wet kit. I do not believe in dry kits at all. I think they can be extremely harmful to the engine. The NX SAFE cell has a built in fuel pump that is very powerful and allows you to soely use the cell instead of tapping the oem system to only get 91-93octane. I get 116 mixed with my n20 for a much safer than average kit and 0 pressure issues from tapping a stock fuel system. It also allows 0 evidence of tampering with the engine. Thank you for the install comment, luckily I have hands on bottle experience so I was able to do the complete install all my own. I have about 14hrs in doing it right and getting to know the IS-F. If I had to do it again it would take an estimated 6-8 hrs. I have about 1200.00 invested in parts with the wideband install it will be closer to 1500.00.

It really sounds like you know what you're doing. The amount of time invested in this project will definitely pay off in the end. I too look forward to your commentary on the progression of this project.

Im real interested in how this turns out. I personally would be a tiny bit worried about having a fuel cell with race gas right next to my motor. You did a nice job on the install. I would start with a smaller shot and work my way up to my goal just to ensure the motor doesn't lean out in your search for power. Wish you best of luck... Go blast in a bottle!

Thank you for all the kind words, it was definitely not simple getting this done, but I do believe with some proper tuning of the system and the right traction the IS-F will go 10'S. MrSlayX has already proven the car can easily run low 11's all day on the bottle. I believe he is on his way to a 10 sec slip as well.... I must give him some credit for answering questions on his install and experience to help guide me through my install.

Lil Update. Last night I went out and played with some cars for fun.....The car pulls beautifully and flawlessly Im ready to spray big on it but I must wait till the wideband arrives. Here is a quick video last night. Keep in mind this is a small shot and my first time to race on the street like this. I was spraying from 2600-6000rpm in the videos.

Awesome job! The Proton kit reminded me of my Zex kit until I saw the dedicated race fuel source - very clever.

I look forward to seeing more results!
