Injen Intake Installed
So I went for the Injen Intake and got it installed this morning. Only had a few chances to drive it since I did it before work. Removal of the stock airbox was straight forward and lost the secondary intake flap with the air box. The hose clamp included to attach the silicone sleeve to the intake manifold was too small but I was able to re use one of the stock hose clamps. Other than that took about an hour and a half to get everything done from start to finish.
So far I am happy with the purchase and addition. Although the secondary growl is gone it seems that the primary "purr" begins a lot sooner and sounds a tad louder. Have a few Phone pictures just trying to figure out how to attach them.

The car still sounds nice without the secondary flap. I was surprised with the change but am so far liking its unique tone. No plans for dyno charts yet, its just an intake for now.... maybe after exhaust?
I am too. I figured the black would blend in better and its not straight black, it has a pearl effect to it to match the emblems...
Went with the Injen due to the fact they use an AmSoil dry filter unlike K&Ns oiled filter which saves me any possible headache from MAF catching oil residue like I have read about before. I also read that the K&N is fairly loud. I have not heard them in person to compare but am happy with the outcome. I also have a few friends that have Injen's on different vehicles and have had nothing but good things to say.
I found it from a seller Brand New in original box in CA for about $250 and figured I'd give it a shot.

I'll be buying the same one off ebay for about the same price. I'll do a before and after on the dyno. Just waiting to put around 2k miles on my F post JoeZ exhaust first.

where in CA are you located? I see you have that exhaust I hear nothing but good things about!?

The black intake looks good! Glad you're enjoying it. I think you'll like the sound even more when coupled with the Joe Z exhaust. The only real problem then would be to not have it heard around cops...easier said than done when listening to the car roar on the road.
hey guys i installed a injen too but im getting vsc issues
checked all connections and hoses and nothing..
also d/c the battery and it went away but when i started the car back up for the 2nd time the VSC came back again
did any have any issues?

I've had mine on for 6k now and I'm pretty happy. I picked it over K&N cause The velocity stack is bigger, Injen claims this MR Tuned pipe sizing technology, amsoil filter, the build quality is better & it looks way better IMO. I did not have the intake dynoed. I was getting 3-4 miles per gallon more with it until I put the full exhaust on. Now I pretty much rock Sport/manual all the time and stopped caring about gas. But I dont believe my intake made gains until after headers/full dual exhaust and even at that were taking 5-10hp depending on temp. In a race environment im positive this intake is way way hotter than a stock set up. If I was gonna do it again I would probably go Joe Z with a thermal wrap like MrSlay. Couldn't find a pic...
