Sorry to be repetitive-but I have another question about the sound system.
So I went to test drive the 2011 F again-with the way I am going to drive it and plugged in the Ipod and everything
I have some concerns.
1) Are the Ipod menus always slow? Seems like everything else worked very quickly until you plug in the iPod and then navigating through menus and songs became a nuisance. (the ipod is connected via USB cable)
2) Also, I don't know if it was just my cable or not, but I experienced a lot of crackling in the sound when the iPod was playing. Once again I don't know if it was the particular vehicle or my ipod. Just seemed very odd for a car of this class and price range to not have a more seamless iPod connection-especially with how technology is today.
what year is the car? i have an 08 and i never have any problems with the stereo system while playing my iphone or ipod. the sound is really really good. the navigation screens and menus work at a normal pace when the ipod is plugged in or not. as for the sound it was probably the wire that you had.
Its a 2011. And that is encouraging to hear that other people have it working better. It was very ridiculous how long it took for the menus to load as well as the songs and such.

I take it that in the 11' models you can actually control the ipod from the touchscreen correct? Because in the 08' models you still use the actual ipod to navigate the menus hence no slow operation. Im guessing the module in the Lexus just takes forever to read the ipod...my pioneer unit would do this when I tried to browse by song in my Turbo Buick so I know exactly what you mean. There is a delay in communication between the ipod and the Lexus stereo and you're right at that price range it shouldn't be that way....
Yes on the 2011's you can hook the ipod up via USB found in the console, and you can navigate all the songs through the nav. And it automatically separates between artist, songs, playlist, genres etc
