A few random questions
Looking at a 2011 ISF and have a few stupid questions because I have never owned a leuxs...
1) Do the memory seats have an "easy exit" feature. Such as when you turn off the car and open the door the seats move back and everything
And do the mirrors also save into the memory?
2) How is the Mark Levinson sound system? I like a good base and just am curious to how it sounds. And how well does the ipod sync up to it?
3) Does the Smart Key work well? As far as the doors unlocking right when you touch them and everything?
I know these things are all minute but just wondering!
Thanks

1) Yes, you can have the car programmed to have the steering wheel tilt up and retract when you turn off the power. I don't know about the seats sliding back though...I think Toyota doesn't want to unintentionally crush knees in the back seat.
2) It's BASS!!!! I don't have audiophile ears, but the ML system sounds much better than the Harmon Kardon system in my E46 M3. I've tried the iPod integration in the 2011 HS250h, and it wasn't very seamless. My main problem was everytime I scroll down a list of artists, albums, etc, the system kept going back to the main screen.
3) The smart key system doesn't work by touch...it works by proximity of the key fob to different areas of the car. For mine, if my key is within about 18 inches of either door handle, the car automatically unlocks (granted I locked it using the button on the door handle). Same with the trunk. The annoying thing I've found is that when my key is in the car and the engine's running with all doors unlocked, I cannot open the trunk using the handle under the trunk lip. I am forced to used the switch in the cabin. Hopefully 2011s have this fixed.

1) if i am correct, it doesn't have easy exit like the new rx. someone can correct me. mirrors are associated with memory button as well
2) imho the ml on 2is is worth it
3) the fobs work well, never had much trouble with them

1. Memory covers seats and mirrors. Steering wheel will tilt up and in when turning the car off, seat won't move though.
2. IMHO save the money and don't get the ML system, it's not worth it. I had no problems controlling my iPod, FYI it doesn't sync.
3. The smart key works just as expected, which means great! I put it in my pocket and forget about it, sensors in and around the car do the rest. You can even program each key fob to your memory settings.

Really? How did you get this to happen? Mine doesn't do this and there's no option in the personalization options to add this. I have to put my hand through the handle to get the door(s) to unlock.
just read. same here, how is it done? of everything i have read, fob with you, and when you hand is behind the door handle, door(s) unlock.

^^^ Maybe you think the doors are unlocked because they open without you pressing any button, but the front door handles have sensors that will unlock the car if you have the fob with you. AFAIK the doors won't unlock just by having the fob at certain distance. Check your user manual, you'll see the personalization list that you can give to your Lexus SA within the first 1,000 miles for free personalization, there is no option for unlocking the doors that way. I've compiled a list of options that we can change ourselves at any time, I'll post it when I get home later today.
In my previous post I forgot to add to question #1, the steering wheel position is also part of the memory, not only seats and mirrors.

Don't know, it was like that when I bought it. Maybe mine's glitched?
