Offset Guru's can this work on an IS-F with using coilovers and shaving the fenders? Not running excessive camber but some.

20x9.5 offset +36 with 235/35 (Fronts)

20x11 offset +45 with 275/30 (Rears)

 

Hmm.. IMO with that setup you'll likely need a lot camber and slam it to get the tuck, otherwise you'll be jamming into the fenders. It's a pretty good stretch too. Try it out and you can be the first hellaflush F.. he he. Might be a wasting the car's performance though.

 

I'm no guru, but from everything I have read and seen, those rim widths and offsets would rub horribly even with shaving unless you went with extreme camber. Also, why would you ever want to run tires that narrow on rims that wide?

 

Even with stretched tires and shaved quarter panels, you'll have a hard time fitting those widths and offsets in the rear. I currently have 20x10 +40 offset with 265/30/20. The tires barely clear the quarter panels. Hope that helps. The fronts should be fine.

Maybe it's a bit too extreme to fit 9.5 up front but somehow I think 11's in the rear may be achieved??

11" width in the rear can be achieved with the offset around +55mm. My previous set was 9.5" in the front with +36 offset and I had no issues with 245/30/20.

You will have zero problem in the front with +36 offset and 245/30 tires. The rear should be fine also, however, I have my concerns with 25mm profile tires. A few members are using that set up in the rear and seem to have no issues.

Another thing to consider is the brand of tires you use. Toyo T1R tends to have skinnier side walls compared to other brands with the same spec. So make sure you do some research on the tires also.

I'd go with 275/30. It's just a personal preference. Either one is fine. Like I mentioned earlier, Toyo T1R will give you better clearance because of the way the sidewalls are built.

BTW - What kind of wheels are you looking at??

Besides clearing fenders and getting the widest strecth or contact patch, you also have to clear the Brake Calipers...

Thanks for confirming that 20x9.5 +36 will work in the front. Back to the drawing board for the rears.

Yea like Terrance said, 20x10.5 +45 Rear 285/25 would work fine. I'm running 10.5 +43 on 275/30.

 

I am running 20x11 with +50 and 285/25/20. Your going to have to shave your fenders and even then, its still going to be real close.

 

The other factor is how low you want to be. This is going to have a significant impact on clearance. Also the spring rate will determine how deep you go into the travel. Not sure how people are getting away with a 10.5 +45 without fender modifications. That seems pretty aggressive to me.

Do you mind pulling and trimming the fenders for fitments?
