As if things couldn't get any worse for me lately (wife was cheating on me with my best friend, getting a divorce, lost my dog, cant sell my house, and yesterday I got hit hard by a upper respiratory virus).

Im on my way home and a Bexar county constable pulls me over for no front license plate. No big deal right, dismissal right, wrong!!! $260 freaking dollars for that mother. Unbelievable!!! Thats more than a ticket going 30mph over the speed limit. Explain that one to me. A non-moving violation costs more than that. Also every other violation is listed on the ticket as a dismissal other than the license plate. Who needs to renew there inspection, DL, or anything when its a max of $22 fine. What a stupid world we live in. Gonna have to call to see if/how I can get it dropped or maybe just show up to the court date and make the deputy appear, but apparently Bexar County is making an example out of me. Good, I want to move back to Austin... Sorry had to vent.

Oh btw if it makes you feel any better I had a 786 dollar front plate ticket! I got it 2 years ago and thought once the sheriff signed it off it was done.

 

wow sorry to hear about all the bad news....can't you just put on a front plate and pay a lower fee...thats how it works here in CA

 

Dammm dude. Sorry to hear about the mess! Tacle one problem at a time (not the wife though). Nice friend though. That's weak about the plate though. Keep your head up!

man, take it day by day. life's bound to get better. the ticket can be resolved relatively quickly, but i still cant get past the "best" friend part.

wow that's horrible. usually they just give you a fix-it ticket with a small processing fee, this guy must've had it out for you. hope everything gets better

 

First off, thanks for the sympathy. Its been a rough last couple of months. I just needed to vent after all this BS.

Secondly, since I could not find any info on Bexar County fines, I figured I would let everyone know the Deputy was full of it when he told me to either pay it or show up to court. They just ask that you pay $12 and send a pic in of the plate mounted. The girl was at the JP was really cool and basically said the cops dont exactly try to help you out by giving you that info.

BTW, if I was driving a truck or if I was a woman, it would almost be an instantaneous "warning." Gonna take a different route from now on, and thus today starts out better than yesterday ended. One step at a time...
