Default Installed Diffuser

Installed the diffuser today. Had it painted gloss black. Glued washers onto the other side so that the plastic wont dimple when screwed in. Also used 3M double stick tape. (OCD kicked in. Probably overkill) Great support from Rick (S4Play)

Default Very nice pictures!

thanks for the detailed post - that diffuser looks even more awesome in gloss black!

Love your license plate btw - that is sweet

Anyone who wants the diffuser take a look at this post from EXACT Motorsports who is a vendor selling this diffuser for us.

Has anyone painted it to match body color (i.e., USB)? I wonder if the paint will stand up to all the debris. I am seriously thinking of painting mine USB. Sure, a chip here and there over a period of time wouldn't be the end of the world.

I have yet to see one painted body color except for gloss black - a few local guys have asked to get theirs wrapped in 3M CF but quite honestly I think that's a waste of money....

Did you just use spray paint or did you have it professionally painted? Did they/you sand first, prime, paint, then clear coat it?

Thanks,

-Kyle

Professionally painted. Sanded, added plastic bonding agent, primed, painted and clearcoated. Paint has a little flexibility so it wont crack when/if it expands.

That sounds great. Do you mind if I ask what the approximate cost of the paint work was? Just so I can get a ball park if it's worthwhile to go professional or take my chances with diy.

The gloss black looks good! I would imagine on a black car it would just blend right in with the car.

The reason we chose matte black is because it has more resistance to chipping since this piece is located in an area where there will be more potential for rock chips.
