The OEM sizes are $279 for front and $304 for rear. I believe the PS2s were $400+ for front and rear.
The 245/35/19 fronts and 285/30/19 rears are $299 and $351, respectively. These prices are from TireRack.
For comparison, the Continental EC DW are roughly $60 cheaper per tire than the SSs, and have also received great reviews.

^^^ You're right, Lou. I even wrote a note down about that, and I looked right passed it!
Do you have any size recommendations for the rears to go with the fronts I mentioned?
******* EDIT: I looked them up. The larger choices are 275/30/19 and 295/30/19, but holy crap there is a HUGE difference in price. The 275s are $327, but the 295s are freakin' $437!!!! I'm not a guru, so can someone answer two questions: 1. Why the $110 difference?, and 2. Would 295s fit on the stock rim?

I just got a set of supersports in for a customer. They are a higher treadwear rating but a good mix of the PS2 and Sport cup. Looking forward to seeing how they mount etc vs a PS2. They have some interesting chamfering on all the tread blocks too. They feel slightly harder, but are much more reasonably priced.

For those interested in the Michelin PSS tires and how they compare to the tires that are the topic of this thread, one of our Supraforums road racers went to a Michelin tire event and had this to report: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...ot-Super-Sport.

That was an interesting read, thanks for the link! So the Super Sport rocks... certainly some people here will jump on them and soon we'll have more feedback about how it compares to the PS2.
I would be curious to find out if a 285 rear will fit fine on the stock rims like the DW.
P.S. OOPS... looks like the Super Sport is not available in 285/30/19. So that settles it: 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 are both available.

Well, I had my first problem I changed my oil yesterday for the first time since the tire change and the header install.
When I first got the F, I couldn't drive up on my ramps (they would slid on my concrete drive way. I tried putting it in snow mode, and all was fine, I could get up easily. I never had this sliding problem with any vehicle before, and I've been using ramps for a long time. My wife's ES and my truck go up just fine.
Well, yesterday, in snow mode, it was a no go The improved traction, the power from the headers? I think the tires though. I found a piece of rubber that I cut into two strips that I put under the leading edge of the ramps, and I was able to get up It punctured the rubber, but I got it up I need to find some thicker rubber that will fit under the entire ramps.

Cross shopping the Extreme DW with others? You may want to reconsider...

^^^^In my mind this confirms nothing! Anybody notice this test was sponsored by Michelin? The Tire Rack site owner's survey's still lists the DW as it's top rated tire in the Max Performance category with close to a million owner driven miles, and my experience with them has been excellent:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=MP
And in Tire Rack's track tests the DW also came out on top:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=140
It also came out very highly rated by Consumer Reports. See attached.
Am I anti-Michelin, - NO. I just put a set of LTXs on my truck with a new set of wheels and my wife's ES has a set of Michelins, that will probably be replaced with another set of Michelins. Is the new Pilot Super Sport a good tire? I'm sure it's a great tire. Would I replace with it? I'd consider it if it came in the sizes I use, but it doesn't. But, IMHO that test was biased, it bashed all the competing tires in their comparison the Pilot Super Sport.
Again, IMO, there's enough positive reviews out there including my own experiences for me to believe that the Continental Extreme Contact DW is an excellent tire, one that rates your consideration when replacing.

I was at this event a few weeks back, and though it was sponsored by Michelin, there was some more noticeable wearing on the competitors' tires, as Ryan posted earlier. Each of the participants had three different road courses: tracking, slalom, and wet. Essentially we were in six cars (IS F for tracking, 328i for x-cross, and another 328i for wet). Three cars were mounted with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, and three with the competitors (Pirelli PZero, Continental DW, and Goodyear Eagle F1 respectively). I don't consider it bashing at all. Once we floored it with the competitors', immediately instructors told us to test the same car with the PSS. I like the Continentals- highly rated product, great value, and does the job right. The PSS is still a new tire, one that has many people cross-shopping right now. It's just good to see cheaper alternatives that still perform well and gives us consumers another great product to choose.
