Again, IMO, there's enough positive reviews out there including my own experiences for me to believe that the Continental Extreme Contact DW is an excellent tire, one that rates your consideration when replacing.

Biased or not, the PSS is the newest tire on the market and the pictures don't lie. Its only fair to share tidbids with our members...just like you did when you posted pics in the existing Michelin Pilot Super Sport thread.

^^^^You're right Flip, that's why forums exist - to share Now, the only reason I shared those photos in the PSS thread was for a visual comparison. I made no comment positive or negative about either tire.

This is a great thread. I believe I am going with Continental DWS since I will be driving the F in winter here and there...plus the treadwear is the highest of any tire I've seen, 540!

if ur driving in the snow its better that u get dedicated winter tires. if ur not traveling that far then u might get away with it but it can be done.

I have the DWS's and love them. Obviously they are not the same as DW's but they should handle light snow fine by all the reviews and no issues in cold weather.

22,257 miles on original fronts

I bought the ExtremeContact DWS (225/40ZR19) for the front in May 7, 2010. As posted by several members, the inner edge of both tires was showing cord whereas the remaining tread from the inner to the outer was progressively better.

37,418 miles on the original rears.

I didn't need to replace the rears until today. I fully intended to (and ordered ExtremeContact DWS (285/30ZR19) only to be notified a week and a half later that they are still on national back order with no production date scheduled yet. Since I will be going on a road trip with the family, I really needed replacements so I went with Hankook Ventus V12 275/35ZR19 as the 285 weren't currently available in that brand either.

Not too shabby for 2 years, 8 months, 17 days and 37,418 miles. Hopefully, the Hankooks hold up as well...

I've been reading reviews everywhere about the Extreme DW (no need for all-season tires in South Florida) and would like comments on the sidewall, people say that it's too soft. Is it true? I drive my car hard, I just don't cruise, so cornering and handling are very important factors to me. It was a nightmare for me when I switched from the OEM Bridgestone to the Hankook EVO V12, the sidewall is way too soft for my driving style. Will this be an issue with the Extreme DW?

The latest Tire Rack Test is Here:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...0210&ttid=148&

Overall PSS First, S04 Second, DW Third and P Zero Forth.

I have not noticed soft sidewalls and have now had them on for over a year. I still luv my DWs. The Tire Rack tests do not mention soft sidewalls either.

The DW is available in 285/30/19 rears and the PSS is not. The PSS was not available when I bought my DW. IF it had been and IF it was available in 285/30/19 I certainly would have looked into them. But, as I have said I have no complaints the my Continental Extreme DW tires.

I personally would not go back to any size on the rear for the stock rims and would certainly stick with the 285's for sure.

My input is still a BIG. I'm still very pleased with them and the increased performance. IMHO, there is absolutely no down side.

The Continental DW are rated #2 for Max Summer Tire. These are best bang for the buck. I think I'm gonna be ditching my Hankooks to get these.

I bought the hankook Venus as well. 285 rear, and to be honest they did not hook up very well at all. I'm going to give the conti dw's a shot on my works.
