Its a FULL 10 with new oil filter...

It's really easy when you buy 2 - 5qt jugs...

not trying to be a smart ***, but it really depends on how well you drain the oil which depends on whether oil is hot/cold, how you jack up your car and how long you waited. i would pour 9.5 first and check oil level before you add more. the last time i changed my oil, 10 q turned out to be slightly too much and i had to drain a little bit.

unless you remove the oil pan, fact of the matter is that you could be draining for a whole day and there will still be at least half a quart left in the pan

I use a lift and always change it while very hot. Not too worried about leaving oil in the pan. Never had issues with any other car over past 20 years.

Good point.
This is very true which is why I also add the last liter/quart slowly and check several times b4 finishing.
As you say, sometimes the refill varies due to different draining and I hate to overfill.
It is always good to drain while the oil is hot tho.

True guys... but I have done this way too many times already..

Drain & Refill is 10 qts..

Unless you don't let it properly dain and/or your oil pan is sloped away from the drain plug..

I tend to drain on a nicely cooled over night motor...

All the oil is the pan already...

Less waiting.. Less burning.... etc..
