So I have been scratching my head on this one for a long time. Why did Lexus put in a 12V access point in the arm rest when you can't plug anything into it and close the arm rest? In my case my iPhone charger just doesn't fit, which almost makes the aux audio port next to it useless too!
Then I found this:
It is small (short) and fits almost flush in the 12v outlet. Now I bough the one that comes with an iPhone charge/sync cord and I can charge the phone in the car no problem. If you have another phone, you can probably find a USB ended charge cord for it and use this too.
Haha, I have one of these in my IS 350! One of the projects I'm currently working on is to hardwire a female USB cord into the car - basically to emulate the charging functionality that comes stock on the 2010 IS. That way I can ditch the cigarette/USB adapter and hide the cable underneath the center console.
but youre still not going to be able to close it because you still have a cord running out of the armrest. so whats the point of buying this belkin part? my iphone charger fits in the armrest and i can use the aux port at the same time....

I thought about doing that a few years ago but didn't look into how to get power
