Default Bluetooth Audio Streaming

I'm looking for an option to stream audio through bluetooth into my car speakers, while keeping good audio quality from my iPhone 3GS.

I have a 2008 ISF and unfortunately those didn't come with the option to stream bluetooth audio into the speakers.

Does anyone have this setup? If so what are you using?

All versions of iPhones have paired and worked great with my IS-F.

AFAIK there is no BT streaming on the 08-09 IS-F, but when you're on a BT call any sound streams through the stereo. So in theory you can leave a call open and play music, you'll have music streaming through the stereo, BUT it will play only through the front driver speaker.

i believe 2010 would have bluetooth streaming as it has a hard drive and also the new upgraded nav system.

What I did was buy the kensington bluetooth liquidaux. It fits nicely in the center console. The only prob is you hear your alternator whining. So then I bought the PAX ground loop isolator. Then the prob is the sounds kinda dulled out. Had to adjust the sound settings. I guess I would rate it a 6 or 7 out of 10. I mean come on, its an aux jack its going through anyways. But super convenient to just get in and hit Pandora to play something. No strings attached, literally. Hope that helps.

Same deal, 2008 model

Bought a Griffin Bluetooth adapter that is even smaller than the Kensington, should arrive this Friday I'll let you know my 0-10 rating on it ;-)

Cheers

The problem with these bluetooth adapters as well as the newer ISFs (like the 2012) is that they just stream audio, you can't control the source (like an iPhone) from the car. You better have a good playlist, otherwise you'll be browsing music on your device while driving, not good at all. I have no idea why Lexus couldn't do it better, months ago I was on a trip and rented a new Ford Focus (nice little car). I paired my iPhone for phone calls as well as BT audio, and I was able to control the music from the car's stereo! In other words, that car was iPhone-ready for BT audio.

True, but it's a cheap compromise. I love streaming Pandora through mine, and the audio quality is far superior to the satellite radio. Pretty surprising that a 2012 model doesn't have this feature, especially at that price point.

Set-up the Griffin this morning and works great! I would give it a 8.5 out of 10. It's small and picks up the bluetooth signal from my Iphone4 even well outside the car. It's called the Griffin BlueTrip.

Hope this helps some folks,
