That would be a really interesting mod, but not sure the physical limitations can be overcome. Might it be possible to do something visually similar by using an interior third brake light?

I tend to feel the same way about people who change out their rims just for aesthetics... to each their own, I suppose.

the LS high mount brake light is actually on the outside of rear windshield. that means a hole would need to be drilled on body or glass to make the wire connection. i was going to buy a set from a junk yard to experiment with, but not much luck so far.

if you look at the IS-F rear window, you can run a wire down the side if you do it right...all the way into the trunk...

Yes, but its mounted in a channel created between the glass & roof line to accept the 3rd brake light strip and the two finishing pieces on both sides, on the LS460.

Something similiar done on the IS-F would have to be custom...

Guys, when it comes to lights I'm an expert...haha

Why use the LS470 light? Nothing special and if you are going to all that trouble, why not do something cool?

How about using a LED light bar hidden in the rear upper window that can also function as a blue/red police light haha

Remember that, "Given an infinite number of monkeys and an infinite number of typewriters, one will evenually produce the Encyclopaedia Britannica." So I say yes it can be done but depends entirely on how deep your pockets are!
