Explain this one Lexus :/
I thought Maybe there afraid of knocking of BMW, but on the F cars why don't we have a larger/spoitier steering wheel? It doesn't feel substancial enough in my hands like an M cars does. Or even AMGs for that matter.
Sure I see these CF steering wheels out....OKAY and? That's for dress up purposes. I mean the regular 3 series have a better steering wheel then us. Don't get me wrong I love love lovvve my F but why?! Will anyone come out with a new sporty one? Can I have material added to my current one.

Well, the F steering wheel has the cool logo on the bottom and it’s perforated..
It also looses the leather transition bumps found on regular 2IS..
Custom steering wheels are always a great project..
Here is one done right on an IS350!!
Also, this one has a nice feel/grip to it and it too has no transition bump feeling.
Enjoy.

I'm generally ok with the F steering wheel but I do think you have a point. But I've found German (well, European in general) steering wheels tend to be thicker and better designed than most Japanese steering wheels. Even a standard Veedub steering wheel feels nice and thick. I think it's to do with perhaps the smaller hands of the majority of the Japanese population that demand for it to feel more comfortable if its not so thickly padded?
The only difference with the F vs the regular IS is perforated leather and the badge, which is unfortunate. With the M and AMG (and VW GTI) variants, they feel even better, thick and nicely contoured for the hands. Unfortunately for the M3 and C63 that doesn't make up for the fact their dash designs look like something out of the late 80's.

yup, steering wheel has always been an item i complain on the is-f. for a sports car, it could have been better. the grip is just nothing like that on the m3 (and i think even the c63 is better). can be thicker, better grip, and tighter

to me yes a larger steering wheel is much needed but for most of everyones driving I feel I should be fine. Me personally would complain more about the seats. I feel the bolsters should be larger or inflatable like the M3. The reason I just swapped mine out for a true bucket.
