Yes, and I'm sending my oil to Blackstone for analysis and confirmation that 10k changes are fine. I've already got my baseline from the factory oil fill.

I agree, it is not the that the oil will breakdown prior to 10K, modern oils are extensively engineered and hold up extremely well even non synthetics. The reason I change my oil, and I do use Mobil 1, at 3-5k intervals is do to engine blow by at start up which will always add carbon particles to you lubricant. The filter will remove most of the particles but for my piece of mind I believe the $ I spend on the 10 quarts of oil twice a year is well worth it. But with that said each one has to decide what is best for themselves.

Carbon isn't the primary wear agent in used oil. Iron content is. Iron content tracks mileage in any engine and is the primary reason for running UOA to determine when you get to an excessive level of abrasiveness.
