Joe, he said it's going to have to wait until he gets back from vacation

That said, I assume that the system will not arrive until next Thursday, the day before we leave on vacation so there is no way I will get the exhaust installed and the dyno run made until after we get back. We will return on the 17th but I have to make a business trip on the 23rd - 25th. So it is likely that it will be the last week of the month before I can dyno with the Joe-Z exhaust installed..

This sucks, I thought I had everything planned out.

Sorry I haven't been on here as much as I should've been in the past week/week and a half. I've been spending much of my time meeting with attys and dealing with BS I shouldn't have had to.
Anyway last I spoke with Pat his son Mike was going to redyno with paper filter as soon as he could. Pat I believe is now on vacation or at a business conference.

Thanks
Andy

Default Update

Early in February, after I received my ECM back from MHP and had installed a K&N filter I had a dyno run. SAE rwhp = 347, SAE rwtq = 341.

Pulled K&N filter and cleaned MAF sensor with CRC MAF cleaner.
Re-ran dyno. SAE rwhp = 357, SAE rwtq = 347.

Installed Joe-Z cat back exhaust system mid Feb. Finally tested today.
SAE rwhp = 377, SAE rwtq = 361.

Will need to retune because A/F ratio is almost ideal at 13.2:1 up to about 5,200 rpm then between 5,200 rpm and rev limiter at 6,700 rpm A/F ratio drops to 12.2:1

Should receive my Joe Z intake on Friday. Will redyno at the end of next week

Great numbers Pat. Get the CAI on and retest on the dyno with A/F readings and we'll get you 100% dialed in. The quest for 400rwhp continues.

ps--over in UAE now. The list of cars we're tuning is insane, multiple 911 GT2s, AMG 63s/65s, Gallardos, LP640s, Veyron, Bentley W12s, M5/M6/X6s/Alpina B3/335is, Lexus LX570s w/ w/out TRD blower, Inifiniti G37s, FX50, 430s, Scuderia, etc.

I have HD vids of a lot of pre/post tune street racing. The roads here are absolutely flat, wide and smooth. Every stoplight=drag race, these guys are incredible car lovers.

Take care and tty soon.

Thanks

Hey Pat, any plans to post the Dyno graph melding the results together which would show pre-tune, tune (pre-exhaust), v2 tune+exhaust?

Sounds like a lot of fun.

I want to meet the guy that has decided that his Veyron just didn't quite pull hard enough for his taste.

Yes, I plan to post the dyno runs under the new thread we set up for dyno runs and drag times. First, I will have to get Peter (houstonT) to help me download the files from ARD (the shop with the dyno) and to help me load them into the new thread. I am Forum download challenged and do not know how to download pictures and files into the Forum.

Yesterday when I ran the dyno runs we also made a run in 5th gear (all other runs except baseline have been run in 6th. I did this so I could have a direct comparison with the base run. We have the files from that run and can convert from STD to SAE). If I remember correctly, Peter did the conversion and my initial run in 5th gear indicated about 342 rwhp. The run yesterday in 5th gear the results were slightly higher than those run in 6th gear.

5th gear run: rwhp = 378 hp, rwtq = 353

6th gear run: rwhp = 377 hp, rwtq = 361

These two runs were made within 30 seconds of each other, the 6th gear run first, and the 5th gear run 2nd.

Good stuff Pat. Is there any significance in comparing the 5th vs 6th gear runs?

The technician that dyno'd my car the first time thought that 5th gear was 1:1. After the runs I told him that 6th was 1:1, but the baseline had already been run.

My purpose yesterday was to determine if there was significant difference between the hp & tq generated in 5th gear and 6th gear. As you can see, the numbers were almost identical. In a way not surprising since the torque converter is locked up in both gears.

Someone on the Forum had said that because of the gearing that the torque would be higher in a lower gear. That does not appear to be correct from the results of this test. Torque was actually lower in 5th than in 6th, but the difference is so small that I do not believe that it is statistically significant.
