Default tires

i was wondering if anyone has replaced thier tires with wider width ones? on the stock wheels.

stock 225 front and 255 rear

to 235 front 275 rear

just wonderig cause i think the tires on the car look to small. there seems like there is so much room for a beefier tire.

and rubbing or any issues?

i asked a place where i live the same question about a week ago... they said it might rub.. but if i really wanted to try it.. they would order them.. and try it before hand.. then if it didnt work.. switch

i don't know if they are going to rub, the stock wheels are not that aggressive, still some gap between wheels and the fenders.

stock tires are 225/40YR19 front – 255/35YR19 rear

i think the problem is the width of the wheel, front is 8 and rear is 9. 235 for the front is probably ok imho, but personally i wouldn't do 275 on the 9. i'd do it on at least 9.5. that's just me

When I replace I'm hoping to replace with 235/40/19 and 265/35/19. Seems to be enough clearance. The problem is that the brand selection is very limited in those sizes. I feel the 245/40/19 & 275/35/19 combo would be too tall for our application.

On my F, i have BBS RS-GT's in 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 245/40/19 275/35/19. Toyo T1R tires.

Look great, work great. I do have a very slight rub when i back up and turn the wheel sharply, no biggie though.

Why 245/40 on the front? It's a lot taller than stock. There are lots of 245/35 options that are a lot closer to stock diameter. 275/35 on the rear is pretty close to stock for rolling diameter and a decent replacement. 285/35 would be closest though. Not sure I'd want to go that tall in front.

Uh, I think you meant 275/30 or 285/30 - Right

Yup. Good catch. 285/30 replaces 255/35 perfectly. 275/30 is a little small. BTW, the sidewall height is exactly the same, so you're not giving up anything, you're just adding width.

They're also not inexpensive by any means.
