That is correct, so if you want to do this mod then its recommended to add the RR Racing Intake shield to prevent hot air from entering at lower speeds.

The only other solution (probably the best) is the AEM Intake for the RCF/GSF (yes it fits the GSF as well). Design wise, it replaces the factory box and also has a Carbon heat shield to prevent hot air form being sucked back in...
