I dunno if you guys already know this, but if ur crusing in ur IS-F in D mode, not sport shift mode, but D mode, and you hit the "-" paddle, it will turn your gearbox into the sportshift that was in the IS350. Meaning you can set the cap, and it will shift for you. pretty neat. lmk if what i said made no sense.

does it stay that way forever then?

i believe in the 335, if you are in D but you hit the paddle, it will go into manual mode. but after certain time if you don't paddle shift anymore, it will automatically go back to D

When you are not in the sport mode the transmission will change regadless if you are in D or S. However, if you are in Sport mode it will hold the gear.

I noticed this a couple days back. I don't know if it always goes back to D but I know that if you shift up to 8th gear and leave it there it will. Not sure about if you are lower down in the gears (I was on the HW at the time).

Look at post number 1 here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=334987

It does go back into D automatically when you get to 1st or 8th gear.

so that means if i don't come to a stop (car moving, stick in D), and i paddle shift to 6, it will just stay there and not back to D?

If you paddle shift while in D, the transmission will not return back to the full D mode until you come to a stop.

In other words, it will stay within the specified gear range until you come to a stop..

Correct - or if you paddle to 8th, and wait a second or so - it will also go back into D.

yeah, dude i get soo confused cause i drive both cars. In 335 the "sportshift" is opposite of lexus, so its forward to downshift, and backward to upshift. Also the paddles on 335 is different. Instead of right to upshift, and left for downshift. It's pull towards you for upshifts, and push away for downshifts. let me just say, not a good thing to confuse.
