Default Side fender vents real???

Does anyone know what the side fender is for? I looked in the front wheel well end did not find any holes connected to the fender vents. Are they just for looks or are functional. Only thing I can think of is it is drawing some hot air from the engine bay. I am going to check with the dealer tomorrow.

Some have mentioned they are both cosmetic... some had mentioned they are both functional..

I was told by a source, but still have not confirmed myself..

I should get some detailed, up close info / pics soon...

I will mention the vents on the fenders do have small openings.

Edit: I just found this info...

Wasn't it said to cool the front brakes?

I know the front bumper inlets next to the fog lights are functional. I am referring to those side fender vents. I look inside the wheel wells and did not find any connection to those side vents. So it must not be use for the cooling of the front brakes.

The side vents are there to help vent hot air out of the engine bay for that big V8. The front bumper scoops you see next to the fog lights are there to help cool the brakes. Even the rear fake exhaust pipes are functional, they create downforce at speeds of excess over 130+mph.

Yeah, I was talking about the same side fender vents you're talking about. I thought those were for brakes, interesting that they're not connected. I must have misread it previously.

Yes the side vents are engine heat only and not for the brakes. The heat from the brakes are cooled by the inlet by the fog light and pushed through the wheels (functional wheels). The four rear exhaust pipes do not create any down force, but helps distribute turbulence created by the large amount of air sucked in through the engine.

So what about when we add lights in the side vents? As long as the lights are still low profile it will still function just fine correct?
