I think anyone who believes the ISF will have 450 or more HP is in La La Land! I seriously doubt the car will have more than 420hp. IMO, the official spec will be between 410 and 415.

 

I searched for the original IS350 press release and it indicated,
The IS350 is a 306 HP car. So, I also feel we should not get too carried away with the numbers. I am more concerned that the IS-F will be an all around performer and competitive on the road course. We are not going to win any HP bragging rights with the C63 AMG on the market.

 

That would be really sad if it did 0 - 60 in 4.9 seconds.

 

Flipside909, according to his direct sources at Lexus, confirmed that the rumoured 415HP thrown around at the Taste of Lexus is false. The car will definitely have over 415HP, you can count on it.

Why is it such a stretch to believe the car will have over 420HP?

 

As long as the car has over 400 hp...i'm happy. For all we care...if the car performs equal or better than the competition, who cares how much hp is really there.

 

The way I see it, Lexus does not yet have the same brand image as BMW M cars, so the F brand must build a brand image by going beyond the competition in as much ways as possible.

And is there something you're not telling us Flip?

Is Lexus aiming for the IS-F to meet or exceed the competition?

 

Same here....... and I just want to stand out by a small margin from IS350 and IS250..... I guess they are the most common car in Miami.....lol

Two years back I was opting for IS350 but then no funds as I was a student then.. But now i can even afford an IS-F!

Well guys lets also think. The C63 making what 450+ hp is a 6.3 liter engine. That is 1.3 liters bigger than the 5.0 in the IS-F. So the IS-F is way more advanced from a HP-displacement ratio.

NO ONE outpowers Benz. Hell they are up there with Ferrari and co. So forget Lexus trying to out HP them.

Audi and BMW with 420 is attainable. I don't see why they can't get 420 at least.

 

Sorry for nitpicking but the C63 has actually a 6.2-liter engine. MB is so full of minomers these days it's hard to keep track I know.

And the MB has already been outpowered in the 3.5L V6 war, so nothing's impossible. That said, the IS-F is definitely not gonna have more than 450hp. More like 335hp like some others have said.

 

Actually, 2008 rs4 will be 450hp, no longer 420.
