I just got an email from Audi earlier today to checkout the new TT website. Anyway, on that website it says the S-Tronic (DSG) tranny has "shift times in the region of 0.2 seconds..."

I thought it was faster than that but I guess not. Unless there are different versions of DSG from Audi like BMW has different versions of SMG?

i thought the tranny was gouing to be a cvt like the Ls.. but still 8 speed = nasty tourqe and and less rpm differnce between shifts. id rather a nice auto tranny(aston DB9) than a eltrohydraulic tranny(aston Vantage, smg) just less problems w the auto, a regular 6speed would be nice tho

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but the only LS that has the CVT is the LS600hL & the regular LS460(L) has a regular tranny.

100 milliseconds is quick for a torque converter. The ZF box in the new 3-Series 335i performs the shift in the same time. ZF also does the box in the Aston DB9.

But I believe that the more important aspect is how soon after you press the paddle does the car perform the shift. The DSG, even in the GTI, is "right now" to the point that it's astonishing.
