are we polling 2 un-released vehicles? If that's the case, I vote for the Supra. I have been waiting almost ten years for the next Supra.
LOL! It is all about the Supra in my house. My husband has an '89 turbo in white and '94 twin turbo in red, and he is just waiting for a new one to be released. We love the Supras, so my IS is the "practical" car - go figure! Oh well - I am not complaining! I freakin' love driving the '94 - ricers beware!!! I may be a chick, but I can definitely drive. Gotta make my Dad proud!
The asking thread doesn't make sense to me.
The question is do you want 2 door or 4 doors...
the IS500 (if it will ever come out in the first place) will most likely be offered in a coupe version as well. who knows, maybe the m3 might even be offered in a sedan version...no body knows...
iunno...Its an internal debate for me. Cuz i like inlines for the fact that Toyota doesnt use em anymore, and that inlines put power down more efficiently than V-types (because of less gearing). Basically I'll never forget my love for the 2JZ. But Id like to see a GS or LS500, not IS No offense, but 5L is a bit much for a sport luxury sedan is it not? I also do not like 2-doors, i dont know why, but Im much more partial to sedans...fast sedans...fast luxury sedans...mmmm
For pure performance, I'm willing the bet the M3 will be a superior car. so I pick M3
For a daily driver, I still pick the M3
When I'm old and wrinkly and want something softer, well hopefuly by then i can afford a car w/ another 0 in the price tag

Oh no. I doubt it.
The base IS500 can't be more than $50k to compete with the M3.
The base LS460 is probably about $66k.
You're paying not only for the engine, but the car as a whole in general. The sheer size and amenities of the LS far surpasses the size and amenities of the IS, no matter what the engine. Therefore, the LS will always be priced higher than a turbo-IS.

Does the M3 cost as much as the 7-Series?
fully loaded, i woudln't be surprised if the m3 got very close to the price of a base 7 series.

I'll be close, thats for sure. A base 750 is about 71k. The E46 M3 base is about 49k. Think there will be a price jump of probably a couple of thousand to the E92 and then option. It'll be within 10k probably of a 7 series.
I'll go with the stock 4 door E92 M3 with it's H50 V10. 542BHP 384TQ(if I got the money). It's basically a V10 on a lighter 330i body. It's on the NOV 06 issue of European Car magazine. But it's just me... been with bimmers for quite some time and my first lexus was a 04 GS300.
