The IS500 scheduled to be announced about three months after you've given up and bought an IS350.

So hurry up!

BIg fake rumor.

The IS will most likely graduate to the IS460 when the IS250 becomes "outdated." I doubt that Lexus will put their most powerful engine on their least expensive car.

There is no known engine right now for Lexus that will be 5L, except for the LF-A concept. If there will be such a thing as an IS500, it will most likely be around $75k because of the technology.

I don't think the 500 stands for 5 L V8, but rather a 4.x L V8 with hybrid, just like the GS400h is 3.5L V6 hybrid. I also don't see why Lexus would not do an IS500, esp. when Nissan/Infiniti GTR (based on G35/350Z) is coming. There's also a LS600 (V8 with hybrid) in a couple of years.

Guys in all honesty, we have nothing concrete about the IS 500. It makes no sense, b/c
1. Its not the new V-8, the 4.6.
2. Its not going to be a hybrid from my understanding.

We have yet to see the coupe/convert yet.

Hopefully it comes but its at least a couple years away. For now, lets focus on the 2 new models we DO have

All the "rumors" so far have it that the new V-8 to be shown at the Tokyo Show is gonna be in the LS600h which has a 5.0L V-8, while the LS460 to be shown later will have, well, a 4.6L.

I think it makes sense. The LS"600"h otherwise can't achieve an output equivalent to a 6.0L even with the help of electric motors, which only offers high torque but not high horsepower.

Whether or not the M3-competing version of the New IS is gonna have a 4.6L or a 5.0L is another story, however.

Well if it's dated on 6/13, you'd better believe it's been posted somewhere on this forum.

Then again, the IS350 doesn't come with hood vents and huge fenders.

ok, as much as everyone with an IS350 doesn't want to admit or think that a better model is coming out . . .

Here is why all the mags are spreading this info around:

1. that car was tested AFTER the IS's were already out

2. Lexus has registered the name IS460

3. and i dunno, the car was probably going a lot faster than the 350. lol

I have 34.5 months left on my lease and I doubt an IS460/500h/8000qxrt will be out much before then, so I'm not too worried about it.

I don't think BMW 330i owners would be worried about a new M3 coming out . . . it's in a different class, & so will an IS460/500/whatever if they really are making one.
