I’m supercharged running close to 700 wheel and my rear diff decided to give out the other day. I’ll admit I probably could have been better with drain and refill maintenance. But realistically, how much should this stock differential be able to hold? Rebuilding this thing isn’t an easy task and definitely don’t want to do it again, I understand that this is a rare failure, but I’ve been looking for aftermarket options for a stronger grade steel and I’m coming up blank in my searches. Ring and pinion only. I do not want to change the gear ratios, unless there is upgraded options really close to factory. Do you guys know of anyone that has parts like this? PFA
With power, comes broken parts
Don't know of any aftermarket ring and pinion options specific for the IS F diff, but given it's toyota and may share diff's (at least internals) with other models, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a set that would work. I bought a used open diff when I did my 3.13 OS giken build and I had the ring and pinion cryoheat treated for a little peace of mind. I'm not saying it really does work cause my car isn't supercharged though.

interesting I have never heard of cryoheat treatment… definitely something I want to research now, it does share internals with the ls460 and gs460
