Default PPE Headers Advice/Help

I’m about to pull the trigger on a nice set of PPE Headers for my ISF but I’m wondering if anyone here has passed emissions with a FBO ISF.
I’m located in NYC but I don’t have a problem with passing the safety / visual part cause it’s my peoples shop, the only thing I’m concerned about is my monitor readiness to pass the OBD2 part.
I will be running the CATLESS PPE headers with my secondary cats resonators to a chopped muffler.
I also will be getting my car tuned by Loi haha
any advice would be greatly appreciated

I recommend a tune so that the OBD will appear compliant. However if they use a sniffer (they did when I lived in NY) you might not pass.

spoke to Loi he seems very confident I’ll be good and to be fair I trust him, guy knows what he’s doing he said-

“The front o2 harness extensions are needed as the location of the front o2 sensor location is further back. You need the harness extensions from Michigan Motorsports to be able to connect the front o2 sensors to the main wire harness.”

“You will not have any issues with ECU readiness. I have tuned thousands of cars and the ECU shows readiness and even passes state inspections with no issues.“

Visual is absolutely not a problem neither is safety for me only the OBD2 test is my concern.
NYC now for a while only does a safety check ($10) and a OBD2 plug in emissions test ($27) to make sure there’s no CEL and 7/8 monitors of the vehicle are in the ready state not incomplete.
you mention you have ppe headers in stock what’s your cost?

Then yeah you'll be fine in NY according to what you said.

Message me for pricing.

I don't see why it wouldn't pass long as you have no CEL. But to be fair without a tune or something like a 02 sim, you will eventually get a CEL. That's what happened to me and I'm FBO, o2 extensions only work but for so long, the car learns after awhile. I had to get a tune to get rid of that rear o2 CEL

So like stated above if you are gonna do that, get the car smogged right away or just get a tune and be done with it forever. Its win/win honestly

^^^^Not in my experience. I had PPE headers on my ISF for eight years before I sold it and now have them on my LC. o2 extensions are working fine for me

There’s some misinformation in some of the responses. From what I have seen going PPE and completely catless does not guarantee no CEL. Some have reported to be CEL free while others have gotten p0420 and p0430 codes. In most states that does OBD2 scan the emission system has to be a “ready” state which means no CEL. Historical, pending and current emisson codes will prompt a fail.

The fix for the p0420/30 code is to use a o2 spacer for the secondary sensors but it may or may not work.

If you are referring to the RR Tune to remove the CEL. This will not work for a OBD2 emission testing since the system won’t be in “ready” status.

well I already bought the headers but your spot on you get what I’m saying with the monitor readiness, I guess I’m going to wait till they arrive in Novemberish and see what I can do and I’ll try to remember to update this thread, I might get it inspected day before and update my registration for another 2 years before install just so I have a year with inspection and 2 for registration just to play around with it

Tune or no tune, 90 degree extensions at the rear o2 sensors will keep the light off. Im FBO on my GSF and have not had the CEL come once.
