Default Traveling with the ISC

Has anyone done any multi-state trips with their ISC? Furthest I drove was from northeast Ohio down to Lexington KY. Had the top down the whole way, had to pick and choose what was important for luggage. I have a head duty camera bag that holds my full frame Canon dslr and 4 lenses. I also have a drone bag with a controller and 5 batteries. Those 2 along with a medium size soft luggage bag takes up all the room behind the luggage cover. I didn't want to leave anything in the backseat that might get stolen.

We travel all over in ours. But not with top down until we arrive and empty trunk. We are currently on 10 state trip in NE for 17 days. Had the top down a bunch after we empty. We have done 23 day trip out West. Trunk is HUGE. Don’t like to drive with top down on interstates but love it after we arrive. Great travel car!

I have done a few long drives from MD to Florida with my 350C

Obviously, as a Lexus it's reliable and a daily driver. While technically an "entry level luxury" convertible, you could also view it as a GT style coupe, which was intended for your exact use case with 2 passengers

With the top up, cargo volume is fine. With the top down, you'll probably need to put the suitcases in the backseat. However the backseat was actually designed to fit 2 adults, unlike most GT coupes backseats which can only fit children or store bags.

We visited 8 states and 1 province putting on 8000 miles in 4 weeks with the top down the entire time, except for 2 mornings that were below freezing, so we drove a few miles to get the frost off of the roof before storing it away. We had our golf clubs on top of our luggage in the back seat, and would keep the rear windows up for fear the clubs would slide out on hard cornering. lol .We had nothing but clear blue skies for the entire month of October on the west coast and the is250c worked brilliantly for high speed cruising, We were inspired by the Great Race competitors that drove their vintage open cockpit roadsters from Longbeach California to Tacoma Washington.

On longer trips while on the freeways, the sightseeing in all directions isn't the important part, so I keep the top up. Doing that at high speed reduces the wind whipping and fatigue that comes from wind and sun with the top down. When at slow speeds for poking around, then the top stays down. If I pack things just right, I can get the top down even with some luggage in the trunk. (Note here: be careful that you don't jam the trunk lid closed on the luggage as it will keep you from getting it open.)

Even if you use the back seat as the place to store your luggage, you can still stay secure at nights by putting the top back up. Perfect!
