I have a problem with my IS-250C - first time ever.
The remote key would not open the car today and neither would the spare. I used the mechanical key to gain entry, lifted the hood and checked the battery voltage - measured 5 volts.
I have charged the battery and the lighting, door locks and windows now work but the starter does not turn.
5 volts? The battery is done. Even if you "Charged" it, you might have 12v of power, but your cold cranking amps are probably done with which is why the starter won't turn.
I was looking for a solution to a complex problem and all the time it was down to a failing battery.
What got me going was that when the battery had been boost charged, pressing the brake and pushing the start button lit the instruments but did not crank the engine. It seems that in this scenario a high amount of pressure is needed on the pedal for this to happen.
Car is now running fine and a battery is on order from Costco.
