i need your advice! I found a 2010 IS 350 C with 73k miles on it with 2 previous owners in Florida and I live in Atlanta. We have agreed on everything and I am about to pull the trigger.. The car was a trade in at an Audi/Porsche dealership recently and they said it was inspected by their techs and it is fine. Because I have read EVERY thread I can find, I want to hire an independent inspection from the Lemon Squad, since I plan to have the car shipped, my husband thinks I should trust the dealership bc they are high end... please give me your advice.. should I pay to have an independent inspection done for $170 ? I think its a small price to pay for a $16k car.. what are your thoughts? Thx Pam

I would pay the $170 to have an independent inspection done. That should give you some additional confidence that you are making a proper decision! If any problems are found, then you should have some leverage to get them corrected before delivery.

I'd do an inspection too.. Can't hurt and doesn't cost that much and will give you some more confidence.. GOOD LUCK!

 

@TomDac I can always count on you to respond! Thank you! I ordered the service and Lemon Squad has reached out to the dealership and agreed on 5pm today. I feel SO much better about my purchase now. Just hope it all checks out 🤞🏽

The IS-C is a rare car, in general is cherished by it's owners and a fine example of Lexus reliability.

Hey @TomDac !! Thanks for asking.. Lemon Squad was the best $170 I have spent on this car journey!! I was trying to hold off til it arrived ( being shipped from FL to GA ) and I could provide photos but.......
I bought her!!! Lemon Squad gave me a thorough inspection that matched everything the dealer told me and they verified it was a great car!! More details and photos to come.. but ... I finally belong in the Club!! Yaaaay!!

 

@Mike246 Lemon Squad was the truth.. they made the appointment, followed up with the dealership when he was running late and within 24 hours delivered the most thorough report that I’ve ever seen. ( it was better than the one I got from a Lexus dealership for another car I almost bought) PLUS they sent 75 pictures or everything from the inside to underneath the body. I was extremely pleased with their service!
