Ripped wind deflector

Looking at buying a wind deflector with two small tears in the mesh around the frame. Will this affect the utility of the wind deflector?

If they are just small rears, they won't have any effect. However, those tears are weak points and will get bigger in time, which will probably cause the mesh to develop large rips.
