I'm trying to pull the plastic rivets out of the trunk liner which hold the carpet lining to the trunk. I even bought a special trim removal toolkit from Amazon. However, pulling out those plastic rivets is harder than pulling out teeth, even with the trim removal tools. I put so much force into removing one rivet that it shot across the garage floor and I never found it again. I wish I had eye protection on because when it popped loose it could have easily taken out my eye. Are these rivets supposed to be this hard to remove?? Or am I doing it wrong?

 

You need to push on the center of the tabs first... then they almost fall out.
