For those of you who have no sticky dash problem, are you leaving it alone?

yep. Plus there's no guarantee they'll replace a perfectly good dash, so why bother. AND they'll inevitably mess something up (door panels are very easy though). I just wished they'd give us credit or a new dash so we can replace it ourselves.

The good news is that the dash doesn't cost too much, 300 bucks or so... so when the time comes, I'd rather do it myself AND pay for it myself. 2014 and my dash is fine though.

Ditto, I'm hesitant to let them do the airbag recall as it is.

Default 2012 dash replacement

Got my 2012 IS350C back today- they replaced the dash and it looks great. They are also replacing both door panels under warranty- they ordered them. The rear interior quarters are not covered at this time. Looks like my timing chain cover is leaking though and that is a pretty $ repair- they pull the motor.- The company I work for owns the Lexus dealership and it is still 1k at my cost!

I'm not worried about them messing up the new dash, I'm worried about the creaks and rattles and groans and them scratching up something else (they have to pull everything out of that dash and the surrounding areas to replace it). I'm so OCD, my car right now has ZERO rattles and creaks (it's solid as vault) and that's pretty amazing for a convertible. I don't want to be tracking down a rattle caused by some random guy replacing it that just wants to go home, or convincing them that a scratch or a scuff wasn't there before. The interior on mine (including seats) looks completely new, no scuffs or anything and I know that's NOT how I'd get it back.

Thankfully, for 300 bucks and a few hours on a weekend afternoon, I'd be fine doing it myself.

Yeah my dash is perfect too

where does the “stickiness” start?

Mine was sticky up near the base of the windshield. The small grill in the center was also popping out in one of the corners indicating that it was slightly warping.

FWIW, that grille didn’t always sit flush even when the cars were brand new. Ditto for the vent above the radio. One of my biggest annoyances with the 2IS.
