Default Airbag recall

Just receive the noticed that my car needs to go in for passenger airbag recall.

Anybody here do it? DO they need to take whole dash apart?

They said they will need car whole day and will give courtesy car.

I had the airbag replaced in my car back in November 2017. They needed the car for an entire day and gave me a loaner. I can't remember exactly what the process was, but I think the service advisor said that the dash had to be removed. But in the 14 months since the recall was done, I don't have any squeeks or rattles or anything.

An interesting side note to this is that this was the second time I took the car in for this. The first time was several months earlier. That's when the dealer found out that the convertible and the hardtop cars don't use the same airbag. So I had to wait until they got the correct one in. Lost a little confidence in the dealer on that one.

yup, there was a special IS-C day at my Lexus dealership on Sunday when a whole bunch came in just for this, also my 2nd time. The nice thing is, you do get a free car wash, and if you drop it off saturday morning, you get the loaner pretty much the entire weekend.

they wont be washing my car. It has perfect paint and I don’t want dealer monkey swirl marks

My dealership fills up my car on recalls. Now, they don't tell me what octane they fill it up with but, I'll still take it!

My dealership provided a receipt copy of the amount of gallons and the premium gas they filled it with from the Mobil station across the street.

Ryan, to confirm, did they go through you glovebox like others have mentioned? Total time to fix and which dealership did you use?
