I'm considering fsport shocks and springs.
I'm considering going to 19 inch wheel.
If I do both will it be too low and rub during turns and steep driveways?
If I increase wheel size only will I have a lowered appearance?
Or if I lower and keep existing 18 inch wheels will that achieve top appearance and ride?
Finally does the having top down vs up effect any of the above?

Ok first thing having the top down doesn't seem to bother anything and may give you a little better traction.
2nd what is the look you are going for?
3rd lowered on stock 18 won't give you that real lowered look, it will look lower but still have a pretty big fender gap.
Rim width and offset will either make it work or cause you headaches.
Do some searches here on lowered on springs or coilovers and you will have days of reading and tons of pictures to look at of all kinds of combinations.

Here are a few pics of mine lowered on BC BR coilovers with 19x8.5 + 32offset front and 19x10 + 38 rear with 235/35 /19 F and 275/30/ 19 rear. I do have front camber adjustable upper control arms and rear adjustable camber arms to help with rubbing, but I have not rolled or pulled the fenders.

Couple questions...

Do you still have all of your suspension travel (can the suspension go to the bump stops without damage to the tires)?

Was your intent to have the tires appear flush with the bodywork, or is that how it worked out in order to get the wider tire in there? Could you have had used slightly less offset, moving the wheels inward (for less interference with the fender)?

 

I have never hit the bump stops, with the little bit of negative camber I have added, I have to hit a pretty big bump at a fast pace like 55-60 mph to get a little fender rub.
I was looking for the flusher fit but if I was to buy rims again and keep the same size tires I would get a + 36 offset in the front and +42 in the rear to tuck them in just a little bit more. I may just drop the tire back to 225 front and 265 rear next time. I almost never have more than just one other person in the car with me. I could just add a little more negative camber but this is my dailey driver and I don't want it to aggressive.

Looks good! A little too low for me.
The look I'm going for is decrease in fender gap without compromising ride and comfort.
I m considering going to 19' wheels without lowering first to assess the look. Maybe that will suffice for me at this time. I'm a really aggressive driver so I'm really concerned about rubbing.

 

im lowered on h&r springs and running 19x8.5 +43 245/35/19 19x9.5 +43 275/30/19 and I have no clearance issues. I was originally running 275/35/19 in the rear and had to do a very minor fender roll but with the 30 series is have lots of clearance now. the drop on the h&r is conservative and you shouldn't have to worry about bottoming out anywhere.

yes I am on this setup still. I don't have any understeer issues, but at the same time I don't really drive the car aggressive. I have an isf for that.
