The convertible is just an idea at this point. And the New IS sedan is coming out next month. I don't understand your logic?

Yeah, no ragtop for me ever again, but I really prefer a lighter 2 door coupe for a car with sporty aspirations . . .

Definately a hardtop if they ever came out with one, maybe in 2 years? For now, I'll enjoy the sedan.

Why are you so aggressive? I actually have to agree with flip... how can we decide on what we prefer without knowing how the convertible will look like?

Uhmm... Let's leave religion out of this.

Hard Fact #1: No confirmed info on the IS becoming a coupe or convertible.

Hard Fact #2: People are very excited about the new IS. It is o.k. to speculate or dream about a coupe or convertible.

Hard Fact #3: You people need Zoloft...

Hard Fact #4: I am getting the sedan, and I just took two Zoloft.

pissout, consider this a warning. your way of responding to other members (twice for that matter). you made a post and other people are welcome to post their point of views. no one is being aggressive at you but your responses were completely unnecessary and uncalled for.

To pissout: Even if you started this thread with a good question, there's no need to show such aggression to express your disagreement with another member not liking your thread.

To flipside909: pissout was just asking people in what form they prefer the new IS. No need to stop people from having some fun discussing about possible future models.

To the thread: I'm with AmethySC. I would really love to have a 2-door IS coupe that costs about the same as the sedan. I rarely have rear-seat passengers anyway so the sheer coolness of a sexy coupe is just better. I probably can't afford a hardtop convertible IS so that's out of the question.

I'm a coupe guy thru and thru. I owned a J30 once. Liked the car but learned a valuable lesson. I can't drive sedans for my daily driver or weekend driver. That's for my wife. So, there will be no more talk from me about buying this or that. For now, I am happy with the platinumsc. When I'm ready to buy, it will be a coupe...somebodys' coupe. I just don't know whose. A fast sedan is still a sedan. Coupes til the end!

As for convertibles...don't really like them as much as fixed roof cars. I haven't driven the sc430 yet but heard it doesn't have the bugaboos most convertibles share. Like body flex, increased noise, heavier weight, etc. If the IS coems out with a hard top convertible, we'll just have to check it out.
