Lexus is500 ultimate edition
^^ Thanks - I remember having that feature in my 2019 RC 350 and it drove me nuts and only discovered when I traded it in, that I could disable it in the configuration option (silly of me to not do my due diligence) but it would drive me nuts!! I am hoping that the "easy access" feature applies to BOTH the seat AND the steering column! If anyone here can chime in, please let me know as I am dying to know ASAP
I don't have an IS at the moment, but have had many over the years. There is definitely a setting, I believe "off" that turns all that "easy" exit off, including the steering wheel. I also hated it.
With it off, nothing moves when you turn off the car. I would be shocked if the IS 500 doesn't work the same way.

^^ Glad I am not the only one that hate that feature!! Seeing my steering column gyrate is the most ANNOYING feature of all time. Especially if I am just going in teh car to access the accessory mode for a minute and that thing start going like crazy, like WTF!
That would be a deal breaker for me. I am gonna have to call the dealer and ask them to test/validate for sure. .
edit ... i read the manual and the seat retraction cn be set to full, partial or off. So now I know about the seats. Surely someone with the powered steering column can chime in to see if the steering column moves upon turning off the car or holds its position. My 2022 has the manual adjustment so I can't tell

Sorry, I forgot to mention this, but the mirror, driver seat and steering wheel position are all saved as part of a preset that you have chosen.
So if you select:
When you lock the vehicle, the mirrors auto-fold if enabled.
When you unlock the vehicle, the mirrors will unfold.
When you enter the car and fasten the seatbelt, the driver seat and steering wheel move to your saved preset location.
So if you select:
- Full Easy Exit - driver seat and steering wheel fully move back
- Partial Easy Exit - driver seat partially move back while steering wheel fully move back
- OFF - driver seat stays in place but steering wheel fully move back
When you lock the vehicle, the mirrors auto-fold if enabled.
When you unlock the vehicle, the mirrors will unfold.
When you enter the car and fasten the seatbelt, the driver seat and steering wheel move to your saved preset location.
This is exactly my finding. I should have been more clear in my early response. I wish there is a way to disable the steering column and seat movement all together to reduce long-term wear and tear on the motors.
^^ the best way to disable it for me will likely be to pass on it altogether. Stupid tech for what?!?! People that are too big to fit in? Why not make the seat and steering part of the disabled portion
My 2022 has a good ol'manual steering adjustment

For me, one of my favorite parts of the car is the entry/exit feature. Not sure why anyone wouldn't like it but it can be disabled.
